Lovely - and sad too. How will you use this to inform and evolve your characterisation of Paula? Do you really think that Paula's friendship with Dympie is based only on pity? Here's a thought for you - how do you imagine that Dymphna became known as "Dympie"? It seems such a cute, friendly name for a woman who is clearly - not! Do you think that Paula might have had a hand in this at some point to try to help Dymphna lighten up? If so, what does this say about their friendship? Just some food for thought ...

Hey elise nice blogs, very informative.
just a few tips though. Maybe give us a run through of what you want to achieve from this weeks lessons. Also keep us informed on how your coping with your lines. Just remember were here to help so if your struggling, give someone a ring, sit down with them and learn the lines. Remember the faster you learn your lines the more you can concentrate on your characters movements, facial expressions etc etc

btw nice dancing today you happened to be in front of me so i basically couldn't look anywhere else lol

I am really proud of you for getting a journal in this week considering it is musical production week and we are all so busy. I think it was a fantastic idea to have an extensive, detailed production meeting on Monday as your next audits are coming up soon and the time when imagination must become reality is fast approaching. Thank you also for spelling out clearly to those in the cast what they need to do to prepare the right look for their character. I know it is often difficult to broach this with teenagers who are concerned about how they look, but when challenged with mounting a serious production for public consumption, personal ego issues need to be put aside for the benefit of the whole production. It sounds like you handled this with sensitivity. You may, as a part of your folio development, like to do some sketches of the characters so that the actors have a clear idea of your concept - or alternatively, find some pictures of people from the time to base their look upon. We can talk more about this during a tutorial session soon. In the meantime - keep your positive energy and focus going.

Don't be shy Elise - say what you think - but try to be constructive. I think you seem to have a good handle on where you are currently at in the production. Keep on top of the reflective journal entries though as I would like to see some reflection after each rehearsal session.
